Remember the times when everyone got a gmail account because you knew you’d never run out of storage? Well that dream is out the door. Google has stopped increasing Gmail’s storage capacity choosing to stop at 2800 megabytes or 2.8 GB.
Why the sudden unannounced stop? No one know s as of yet some are still saying this is one of Google’s famous “hiccups” that may be fixed within a day. But I noticed this yesterday after I signed out of gmail and after being reported by some users the problem hasn’t been fixed. Leading me to believe that either the Gmail team is on vacation or else this is a permanent development.
This whole thing comes at a time when people are questioning Google’s reliability mainly because of the recent developments in it’s other services. The blatant self advertising by google that has been condemned by Firefox’s creator, the canceling of it’s answers service, and my predictions that Google’s stocks may see a big decline in the coming quarter.
This may however be an answer to a recent Gmail bug that showed an attacker a user’s mail account. If that’s the case a better a better solution is needed as Gmail’s ever increasing space was one of the things that made it so popular.
Thank you
