WTF It’s Not The End With Technorati Ripoffs?

Technorati’s release of WTF surprised many people and made some cry out another Digg copy. But you may be surprised to know that this is not the end for these low end services from Technorati. As a matter of fact within a couple of weeks there are four more services coming out of the Technofactory:
TTLY - Tantek’s Terrific YouTube Language

You know how every video sharing website has their own embed video player? Well TTLY is a new format that uses microformats.

LMAO - Link My Adsense Openly

TO help bloggers earn money from Technorati indexing their feeds this new service will allow you to include Adsense in� your feed. So that when someone searches Technorati and your post comes up the Google Adsense ads will be from your publisher ID. This raises problem just like every revenue sharing forum out there. How will you know if some user doesn’t click fraud your Adsense ads thinking it’s theirs? Which will get you banned.

BRB - BRB Ranked Blogs

I am not going to bother with this one.

RTFM - Reverse Tantek Forced Microformats

RTFM is a way to removed microformats from your blog if you are stupid enough to use them.

Overall these are all useless except for maybe LMAO which will become a great big spam sphere within days of launching. Watch out for that viagra tag.

Overture Keyword Tool Is Back Online

After launching the blogosphere in a crazy frenzy to find a replacement the Overture Keyword Suggestion tool is back online.

According to Yahoo this was just a temporally down time in order to upgrade the tool to a better version. High traffic had been taking the tool on and offline for the past couple of weeks.

Thank God as I am going back to it even after I found some nice alternatives there is nothing that can beat overture’s databases when it comes to keywords.

Alexa Toolbar Losing Users

seo news blog: alexa toolbar Alexa Toolbar use in the US has decline from 36.91% last year to 14.28% as of now. In fact according to the Alexa Blog it’s losing users in just about every country except Taiwan. The reasons range from users getting Firefox and using the Search Status Toolbar to it’s privacy concerns.

Even China considered Alexa Toolbar’s biggest user base has declined from 18.46% to 16.44%. things aren’t looking good for the Alexa Toolbar unless they come out with a new and better version quick to salvage whatever is left of their brand.

Just Got The Brand New Sphere It Wordpress Plugin

I just email sphere it asking about their plugin for wordpress and they promptly sent me a download link to it. For those of you who don’t know what Sphere It is, it’s a new way to find relevant posts across the blogosphere. Therefore the name sphere it.

As you can see on the bottom of this post and my other posts that have the required amount of words I’ve set. This is part of the email:

Basically the same idea behind Google webmaster central except it’s a little bit slow on progress in terms of features. So you can understand how these new features like authenticating your website via a meta tag and Link Count badge are important.

Yahoo Site Explorer: This new ability to able to authenticate that you own a website via a META tag copies Google Webmaster Central’ s tool. Before you could authenticate your website via uploading a file. Now it’s both this will help freely hosted websites like Blogger or Wordpress.com blogs get their blogs verified. Flickr Getting Phished!

Flickr recently released a security notice warning users about new phishing attacks, which ask the user to log in or download a package of private Flickr photos. This is alarming indeed since I use Flickr for any of my images and consider it trustworthy.
Why is this so alarming? There is the fact that most users who use image services like Flickr are novice Internet users who just use the Internet to upload their pictures and send them via e-mail. Users that sometimes don’t even know that they should check the address bar of any links that asks them for information.

The security alert advises users to make sure the address bar shows Flickr or login.yahoo.com. Stay alert to any Flickr emails you receive and be sure to check them to make sure they are secure.

EDIT: Wordtracker’s released a new free keyword tool to try to get some of this Overture traffic.
The Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool has been down for the past couple of weeks now and I don’t know what’s going on with them but I’ve started searching around for alternatives. Any affiliate marketer knows keyword researching is an important part in using arbitrage to your advantage and making sure your ROI is the highest your products can achieve.
