AOL Shifting Execs Like Yahoo

AOL is also doing it’s won executive shift following yahoo. With it’s new CEO, Randy Falco, residing. He just introduced a new management structure to guide AOL, with six new business divisions reporting to Ron Grant, the president and Chief operating officer. He in turn reports to Randy Falco.

The new executives under Ron Grant include; Kevin Conroy, heading products; Bill Wilson, heading programming;Mike Kelly, leading AOL Media Networks including Advertising sales; and Kim Partoll, leading paid services. The international and platforms executive positions have not been announced yet.The new programming chief is Jim Bankoff who’ll replace Wilson.

Mr. Falco sent a memo to his workers today stating: “It’s our desire to instill greater focus on execution,” he said. “We believe there can be more clarity and accountability built into the organization. In such crucial areas as our speed to market and innovating new products, we have much work ahead of us.”

AOL is a Time Warner owned division that seems to be doing pretty well for itself. Aside from the blatant advertising methods they use; aka millions of disks everywhere, it’s a pretty good company. One thing I love about AOL is it’s user focused mandate. We’ll see what this brings for our friends over at AOL whether it will be a nightmare like Yahoo is having or whether this will actually be good for the company.
Thank you
