Amazon’s New NowNow Answer Service for Mobile Phones

Amazon gathered quite some interest a couple of weeks ago with the release of it’s new answer service named Askville. NowNow is it’s new mobile phone answer service that is supposedly available for any phone with email capabilities, though it is still in beta it’s a great idea.

Powered by Amazon’s Mechanical Turk service which is also behind most of Askville it will charge 25 cents per question. Though in this beta edition the answers are free.  It will pay the experts that answer your questions based on your rating of the answer you received, which is also a pretty good idea.

Why NowNow? When Google’s answer service shut down everyone jumped up Yahoo announced that it’s answer service is still strong and running and Amazon launched Askville. NowNow is possibly just another way to take the customers that are left wondering in nothingness thanks to Google.

I have to admit I am not in love with the name as David described it it sounds like “something people say to the dog when she’s begging at the table. “Now now, don’t do that”.”

Thank You
