After DoubleClick announced that it’s for sale, Google and Microsoft jumped up. So far rumors indicated that Microsoft has offered anywhere from a billion to two for DoubleClick. This may spark a battle between Google and Microsoft for the simple fact that the winner would essentially control the CPA,CPM, and CPC market. But what does each company have to gain from the acquisition of DoubleClick?
Google
Google would not only gain what is known as third party tracking for it’s CPA ads but it would also gain from the brand. In Cost Per Action ads fraud is a high probability and often plagues networks that have high payouts. But with the introduction of DoubleClick it could lower the rate of fraud simply because of the fact that now an “action conversion” has to go through two parties before it’s approved.
Not to mention the fact that Google may be planning to release DoubleClick as a free service after the acquisition. This would undoubtably bury Microsoft’s already in trouble adCenter.
Microsoft
One major gain by Microsoft would be more brand power to Microsoft adCenter, otherwise ignored by many advertisers if DoubleClick were to join it would quickly increase Microsoft’s credibility among many advertisers. This would also considerably give an advantage, in terms of CPA,CPM, and CPM, to Microsoft over Google.

It kills me when I still see posts like these claiming that there is a way to beat Google. I think people need to look at the hard facts and accept Google’s dominance in the search engine field. History has proven to us time and time again that the first one to get there probably will be the only to truly make it.
I mean look at Microsoft there is not a single other company recognized over it’s dominance on the computer market. These movers and shakers come swooping in, claim their places, and continue to improve and maintain said place. Sure there will always be small time competitors but to tell the truth they are nothing but small meat compared to the market these big companies hold.
If you truly think about there is nothing that can topple Google in terms of competition. The only hope competitors have is for the company to destroy itself. Same thing can be said for America, no amount of terrorism is going to bring it down, and to tell the truth the moral decline and internal corruption has a better chance than Al-Qaeda.
The beginnings of a company usually sets in stone what it’s future shall be. The innovation by which Google swept the net when there was nothing but third-rate search engines set it’s place as the leader. The one thing it did was focus on the backgrounds of the search. Doesn’t matter to the user what it looks like as look as it does it’s job right it’s all gravy. From there on they built up from there and created this giant that well know today.
Unless a company can in all sincerity set their search algorithm apart from the rest and come up with a way to please the user with the results it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. So stop with the speculation, wishes, and just plain old whining. Just get to work if you want to beat Google, because any old thing at this point in time won’t do for the users.

All this talk about A-List Celebrity bloggers is making me bad and totally wasting space in my Google Reader. So how’s about someone explains to your the responsibility that comes with being this so called A-List Blogger type:
- Everything you say will be taken seriously (no really)
- You can’t take a vacation because you’ll probably lose your status
- New bloggers will call you out almost daily to try to gain some readers
- You may end up in a mental hospital due to the stress of updating your blog almost daily
- Your name will probably be misspronounced all over the net
- You won’t get on the covers of magazines
- NO GROUPIES AT ALL (or their idea of a romantic evening is publishing a post simultaneously with you)
- Guys will give you compliments as much as they can (unless you are a women then congrats call me!)
- You’ll probably eventually get carpal tunel and it’s no joke especially when you sweat every time you stretch.
- There will be haters making posts like this list about you, oh and watch out for that Jason Calacanis. ( I wonder how you pronounce his name?)
There you go now no one wants to be an A-List Blogger unless they are ready to deal with those consequences.

As if it wasn’t for us small time SEO bloggers to make it into the game but Google goes ahead and gives a big boost to the top competitors. With this new release of themes by Google now the box that comes up when you choose to create a new tab has a new option to automatically add the most popular gadgets in that category.

And guess what gadgets Google chooses? None other that the SEO news giants Matt Cutts, SEOMoz, SEO News (which in my opnion is not that good), Search Engine Roundtable, SE Land, SE Watch, Rankquest’s Search Gagdet, and SEO Book. Now these are changing but they seem to remain the same ones. The most popular ones are chosen with no regard to others.
What about the rest of us who are struggling to make our names out there? You know the more I think about the more I realise Google will bend to the popular demand with no regard to the effects of it’s actions. First thing that was added to the recipe for democracy was the fact that current popular demand may not be for the best.

Just got some good news from the official Google blog about my home country of Rwanda. Google Apps Education Edition is now being offered to students in three different universities. The National University of Rwanda, the Kigali Institute for Education and the Kigali Institute for Science and Technology will now have access to what perhaps is Google’s best educational tool. Kenya also didn’t miss out - the University of Nairobi - as well as other universities will also get it.
This partnership will be a boost in terms of services offered to our Rwandan Academic Institutions, allowing them to collaborate in their learning activities. Furthermore, I believe communication between students and their lecturers will be enhanced as users throughout the country will now be using the same state-of-the-art, cutting edge technology that is available in other parts of the world.
This deal includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Talk, Google Page Creator and Google Docs & Spreadsheets. All of them hosted by Google and can accessed on any web-based PC. This will undoubtedly increase communication between teachers and students. Giving the much needed one-on-one time that these students need.
This is a big deal for me considering I would have never thought that a big company like Google would invest in my home country. This just shows how much we’ve managed to rebuild after the genocide. I am not the only one excited about this however Scott Chacon also has high hopes for this new partnership.

Surprise you never thought about it did you? You never saw it coming. You were just updating one of your clients’ blog and guess what happened the whole website just suddenly went belly up in the serps. So what happened? You linked to the wrong website that’s what happened.
These days spammers and black hat folks alike are getting smarter and smarter and distinguishing between a potentially doomed site and a trusted one is getting harder and harder. These negative links used to be a problem only if the linked website went down. Which became known as “dead links”, but that was quickly fixed with new tools to check for dead links. The truth of the matter is no one truly knows how Google’s algorithm works when it comes to websites linking to banned websites but we know it’s detrimental to the whole website in general.
Each time you link out from a client’s website you are potentially creating a compromising situation. that’s why most people never bother to link out from their clients websites. But with blogs becoming even more powerful in search engines more and more SEO consultants are using them. And each and every post is a potential trip up if it contains a link.
How do you make sure you don’t link to a “bad neighborhood”? I can’t honestly tell you. There is no Google banned website list out there and no way to check the website to see if it’s banned. The only way so far anyone can make sure the website isn’t banned is by doing a link search and site search to check on it’s serps. But this won’t help if said website hasn’t been caught yet.
So here’s me warming you that links can be potentially dangerous even if they are in moderate amounts.

Google webmaster central has been showing link anchor link text for a while now but it was dismantled from the original link text. So that only one word was shown. Now complete phrases will be display under the page analysis section.
This will help out a lot better to many webmasters out there who had to rely on third party tools for this job. However it has a long way to go before we can actually say it’s complete. For example it is completely disconnected from the links tab so there is no way to know which websites link to you with that text.
I’ll be checking it out as to authenticity and report with a more throughout report.

You the actual act of SEO; links, mentions, and code. So here’s an update check on the major keywords tha I target with seo news blog keep in my mind these are english and default meanign I used no special queries:
seo news blog - This one was my main focus simply because of the domain.
Google # 1
Yahoo # 1
MSN # 2 (pushed down by none other that a blogspot blog)
seo news - I also targetted seo news because fo the heavy SERPs hits it gets (1073 according to OT).
Google # 13
Yahoo # 4
MSN # 14
I was planning of focussing on others but I decided to move on and get out fo the background stuff and focus on my ever loving visitors instead. You know what the golden rule for SEO is “Make the user happy and you’ve achived SEO glory”.
